Salabudha is a 2012 Indian Best Sambalpuri film directed by Sabyasachi Mohapatra. The Sambalpuri film had won awards in seven categories at Odisha Sate Film Awards including best film and best director.

The Best Sambalpuri film Salabudha story is based on a small village of British ruled time. In the mid 1930s, during the British rules the small villages of India were still ruled by the kings and the kings were paying tax to the British Government.

The Sambalpuri film Salabudha revolved around a poor and small village of Odisha, India. Bhagatram Gauntia, the sarapancha (Village Head) of the village fondly called Sala Budha (The Stupid Old Man) by the villagers is an honest and kind person and takes good care of his subjects. Due to drought people of the village were unable to pay the tax for five years and being the village head Bhagatram Gauntia couldn't force anyone to pay it due to his kindness. And so is the village head too couldn't pay the tax to the king and was living in a threat to lose his land and leadership. He has a strong belief in God and he tries his best to help them to survive from the drought and staying them together. He says god is never wrong and everything going to be fine. Meanwhile some villagers who didn't want him to remain as village head meet the king and provoke against him. As a result, the king decides to visit the village and snatch Bhagatram gauntia's land, leadership. The king visits the place and at the end of the movie king comes to know the truth and praises him.

The way scenes were captured will not let you feel it is a movie of 21st century and will take you back to the mid 19th century. Sabyasachi Mohapatra the director of the movie portrayed the innocence of the villagers and a 19th-century village so beautifully that needs to be praised

Aadim Vichar is a 2014 Indian Sambalpuri Movie directed by Sabyasachi Mohapatra. The film won 62nd National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Odia and is a sequel to the 2012 movie "Sala Budha". Atal Bihari Panda and Sushree Smita Panda played lead roles in the film.

This sambalpuri film Adim vichar Sukru Majhi  an 84-year-old Kondh tribal and always a righteous humanist and loving person. He has three sons living with their wives and two grandchildren in a village. Majhi lives a very happy life until an Ayurvedic Practitioner (Vaidya) comes to the village. The Vaidya is a tout and keeps a greedy eye on the lands of the locals.

The Vaidya traps the locals into conspiracy and drags them into litigation, and in return, he captures their land. Somehow he provokes Sukru's eldest son to go against his father and convinces him to file a case against his father for his property. But Sukru smartly makes a statement in front of the judge which surprises the judge and everyone present in the court. He decides to stay with his eldest son (adopted) and requests to give his property to his legitimate sons, the case gets solved in a happy ending.

Bhukha is a 1989 Sambalpuri film directed by Sabyasachi Mohapatra. The Sambalpuri film  was produced by  Sabyasahi Mohapatra under the banner of Kumar Productions and had music by Ramesh Kumar Mahananda. This Sambalpuri film is based on the Sambalpuri play Bhukha written by Manglu Charan Biswal. This is the first Oriya film to get an International Jury Award at the Gijón International Film Festival.

This film portrays the plight of the "Bajnias" or "Ganda" tribe of Odisha who are traditionally drummers by profession and the negative impact of cultural dominance by dominant class of people.
